Not until I was 30 and became a Mother did I begin to understand my mom's love and devotion to me.

Today was perfect. Our little family of four was able to get ready for church and arrive just a few minutes early. It takes a little pre-planning, to get us all to church around 8:20. That gave us just enough time for me to take Berkley to her Sunday School class, drop off our supplies for our three year old class, and for Charlie to drop of Major. Then, Charlie and I strolled hand and hand down the hall just around 8:30. We made it just as one of our preacher's was welcoming everyone! It was a wonderful service, followed by a special time with our sweet class of 9, three and four year olds. We made special candles for their mother's. Charlie was SO helpful, as we had lots of extra things to do this morning. He read the story, talked to the children about what special things their mother's do for them...while I cleaned up our art project and got things set up for our next activity. He took them down to music time, and I set up for a little birthday party for one of our little boys. We had mini-b-day celebration and then, put their little candles in special bags to give to their Mommy's.

We decided to come home and have a quite lunch together. One of the very best parts of the day, was knowing that Charlie didn't have to go to work the whole entire day. That doesn't happen very often on Sunday's. And that is the hardest day for him to be gone. After lunch, I was VERY surprised with a seperate card from everyone. A sweet, "girly" card from Berkley (which included her signature :), a Cookie Monster card from Major, and a very loving card from Charlie. Then, after that appeared two small dark purple boxes, with matching sheer bows.

I had been (secretly-until the last month) wanting a necklace, since Berkley was born with her name and now Major's engraved on two pendants. Well, Charlie had asked me to find a website and I did, but the night before he told me that it was too late and he wasn't able to get it in time. I must admit, I was disappointed. I am NOT materialistic and have WAY more than I need!! I opened the first box from the children, the outside of the box said, "Occassions" (the same place that my wedding ring came from) and Charlie said, "oh, that will probably give it away." I really didn't think so, but I was really excited that there was something very nice tucked away in the tiny box. After opening the box, I slowly pulled out a long silver chain, and since there was another box-I thought the charm/pendant must be in the other box. But, NO! At the end of the long silver chain, was two circle pendants....just as I had been dreaming about for nearly four years. One with "Berkley" and the other with "Major."

Then, there was another little purple box. I really had been given too much already! This one was a little lighter in weight than the other. I had a hard time, getting out the contents. I tipped the velvety bag over and out fell two sparkly (hooped) diamond earrings! Just like the ones that Charlie had given to me on our 1st or 2nd anniversary. I wore them nearly everyday, and then about 2 years ago.....they dissappeared!! Now, as I write I am sitting here with my new diamond earring from my sweet husband, and my necklace that hangs near my heart.

Followed by my AMAZING gifts, Charlie decided to take the kids for a walk, and since I hadn't slept well the night before...I asked him if it would be okay, if I just laid down. I did and slept for one and a half hours. I heard them come in, then Charlie went and fell asleep on the couch. Something he REALLY get to do! Nap, AND stay home all day on Sunday!!

After waking from our naps, Charlie really wanted to go work out and Major was still sleeping. Charlie left to go work out and Major soon woke up. I REALLY wanted to go to the pool, since we hadn't been there this year since it's opening on teh 1st. So, Berkley, Major and I packed up and went to our clubhouse! They LOVED it!! They both have NO fear!! They jumped and kicked and splashed!! What fun we had!! I feel so blessed to be able to have a pool in our neighborhood that we will continue to enjoy all summer and for many years to come! We all can't wait to go back!!

Then, we all got dressed for evening church. We dropped Berkley and Major off in the respective classes and then walked again, hand in hand down the hall to the sanctuary. We spotted my family right away. We were able to sit right next to my G-ma, Mom, Dad and Adrian. What a blessing that was!! We had another wonderful message and a VERY special time of prayer. After a busy, active day....we all headed to Rosa's for dinner. Major ate and ate and ate.....Being only 25lbs, you wouldn't think he could eat SO much...but when it comes to Mexican and Italian, that little boy can put it away!! He wanted to say "hi" to everyone in the restraunt. We all enjoyed our time together!

After coming home, Charlie read the kids a book and put them in bed. Berkley was in her room, talking to her flower. So, Charlie went in there and she asked, "Daddy, how is my flower going to get sunlight at night? Charlie said, "well, tomorrow we can put it in the backyard." Berkley, then replied, "but Daddy sometimes the sun disappears during the day. I think we should put it on my window ledge where the sun shines all the time." My little thinker....Hopefully, she'll be in dreamland pretty soon!

BLESSED!! I am TRULY, WONDERFULLY blessed to be their Mother, to have my sweet husband, and my Mother and Grandmother just minutes away!! I love them all so DEARLY! More than words could say!! THANK YOU for such a special day! I soaked up every minute with you-Charlie, Berkley, Major, Mom, Grams, Mike and Adrian!

My Blossoming Little Sweet Peas

WOW! Lots has been happening at our house and I've been wanting to create a new post. So, here we go.

Major, our little bundle of energy is officially two and POTTY TRAINED!! YEAH!! He did WONDERFULLY!! Thank you for our peditrician's advice it was painless and he basically got it within a few times of going!! He is talking up a storm, even creating his own four-five word sentences. Today, while on a walk he said, "I see that truck Daddy!" He LOVES all things boy!! Trucks, tractors, "choo-choo's," garbage trucks, buses...you name it...if it's big, loud and moves! Major gets VERY excited!! We've been learning the differences between these and he's quickly catching on.

I am SUPER excited about his Potty Training, but even more importantly the sweetest words came out of his mouth-(all by himself). At night he has begun to enjoy reading books. He usually chooses The Little Train Engine that Could, and then he puts it up, we pray, he turns his music on and we sway to the music. After that, sometimes eye to eye, he likes to point to my eyes, then he points to his own, saying "my eyes." Then, "Mommy's ears." A few weeks ago, after doing our nightly routine, I covered him up with his truck blanket and I said, "I love you sweet Major." He said, "I love you Mommy." It brought tears to my eyes. Never had he said it so clearly and on his own, without prompting. It was a moment I'll never forget. Now, he enjoys hugging everyone at night and telling them how much he loves them.

Here are some things to describe little Major: bundle of energy (he can run/walk for miles), loves to be with his sister, loves to play with his friends at church, loves riding in Daddy's truck, playing with his trucks and legos, and any kind of ball and wrestling/tickling with Mommy.

There is nothing in life that is more of a blessing then your own children. Sure, at times....things are crazy, and chaotic and I'm not one who handles that the best at times, I know. It's something I'm working on.

The same week that Major starting Potty Training, Berkley came out of her room with her sparkley tennis shoes on and said, "look, Mommy I tied my shoes all by myself!" I looked down and, whoa....SHE DID!! She's not even four!! I couldn't believe it! We called Daddy and shared the big news right away. She had practiced the first part a few times, but I had just quickly shown her the "hard part" maybe twice.

She is one GIRLY, GIRL!! I mean, I know I've written about her wedding plans-invitation created and all! That's just the tip of the girly iceberg! Last week at Grandma's she polished her own fingernails and then this morning, before church I quickly painted her nails to match her bright pink sandals.

I wish I had taken the time to write down some of the funniest, expressive things she has said lately. She loves using large words in her vocabulary-"well, no not exactly." She has these beautiful, big blue eyes that dance when she talks. Speaking of dancing, she is BEYOND THRILLED about her first on stage ballet performance. She is getting dance at the "Sound of Music Theater." (the Cole Theater, where she told me that they built the hill near the theater for the play!) I am having a hard time writing in words her girly, sweet personality-here are some words to describe her: caring, bubbley, friendly, energetic, adventurous, and tenderhearted.

They are both excited about our swimming pool opening soon and Berkley has her birthday planned to a "t." Well, she has about three different themes...so we have about six weeks, before we need to decide. So, I'm leaning towards a super girly Fancy Nancy, dressup party. Berkley said, "I don't think that boys will want to be invited to this girly party." Daddy said, "no, I think Major and I will have to go someplace so you all can do your thing! It will definately be PINK and girly!!

We have definately been blessed with two litte sweet peas. They are the joys of our lives! We love them dearly and want God's best for their lives.

Little Sweet Peas love of crackers

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 181px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_f52lflaO3tk/TUjG83svhqI/AAAAAAAADA8/YkyAh9mtL1s/s320/picasabackground.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5568919688289683106" />
While in Sprouts, health food store this morning enjoying a little protein brownie Major's bright blue eyes were scanning the store shelves. "I see crackers," he said as plain as day! He has just begun creating his own sentences!! What an exciting time!! For so long he has been able to understand, our side of the conversation but now he is entering into a new phase....offering his own side of the story!

For a few months now, he had two word sentences in his vocabulary. His favorite being, "Daddy's truck." "TRUCK" is definately one of his VERY favorite words and things to see with his eyes. Like his Daddy, one food that he couldn't live without is his crackers. He has even gone so far as to bring me the entire box of Ritz crackers and jar of peanut butter into my bathroom while I was putting my makeup on one morning. I guess that was a hint, and someone needed a snack. That's definately his snack of choice!

What a little man he is turning into! He has developed this funny little giggle that he enjoys inserting any chance that he can get! He scrunches up his little button nose, squints his eyes and does his sweet little giggle.

Right up there with crackers, is his LOVE of Elmo!! One of his favorite sleeping buddies is Elmo, he loves watching Elmo on TV and on the computer. He enjoys finding him in books and even on his diapers. We play this little game while I am changing his diaper. We point to the different character and I aske him, "is this Elmo?" When I point to someone else, he does this cute, dramatic "noo---oooooo." Okay, so maybe there was a little coaching involved, but word enthusiasm is fun brings words to life!!

It's hard to believe that Major Maddox will turn two in just three months. Where has the time gone? He just gets sweeter and more personality with every passing month! I love you, my little sweet pea!

18 words (plus 2) at 18 months!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_f52lflaO3tk/TK_HJM9QCmI/AAAAAAAAC6E/Wbey3KDTwlA/s320/DSCF4039.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525854228717767266" />
Wow!! Major is really beginning to take off with his words. I think he is beginning to feel more confident and just today said many new words!! How fun this time is! When I began compiling my list and thought, "I have a perfect title for my new post- 18 words at 18 months," he added another word and then I remembered one I had forgotten. So, my catchy title wasn't quite so catchy!! At his 18 month check up, just a few weeks ago I told our pediatrician that he knew about ten!! He's really learned a lot and is becoming such a curious little boy these past few weeks.

So, in random order here is his 20 word vocabulary! Drum roll, please!!!
Mamma
Dadda
Grandma
Grandpa
bye-bye
uh-oh
Owwww!!
Bob (his Veggie Tales tomato)
Elmo
Nigh-night
truck
Bible
Amen
yucky
yum
yeah
thank you
all done!
baby
dog
tree
bless you

Along with his vocabulary he has really been learning his animal sounds. His favorite sound to make is a tiger. Just this afternoon, I caught him reading books in the playroom. I just watched, and let him enjoy his playtime alone. He likes to point out trucks, and make a truck sound to go along with it! Pointing to airplanes in the sky, has also become a favorite. Just today he figured out how to climb up on chairs with any help....so things could get even more interesting, as he's always curious as to what's inside cabinets, doors and drawers.

Major LOVES being outside!! He is always wanting to escape out the door....any outside door when opened. Brushing his teeth is another favorite....getting the toothbrush out of his hands can be interesting! He LOVES when Daddy comes home from work!! They go on walks together and go to the park. Often times he comes back with a few treasures....acorns, leaves etc. He enjoys, "airplane rides" and if I'm laying on the floor, sometimes he'll come and prop my feet up, so that he can go up into the clouds. For nearly a year now, he has enjoyed throwing balls, and sometimes unfortunately this leads to throwing anything and everything. I must say, for such a little guy...he's got quite the arm!

Somethings that Major LOVES eating are tomatoes, corn on the cob, grapes and watermelon. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he likes treats just as well.....but we try to get him to enjoy the healthy things and as of right now, at age 1 1/2 there are some of his favorites!

Just yesterday in the grocery store, he waved to everybody he saw. Most of them waved back, or stopped and talked. It made my heart sad when someone didn't notice my sweet little boy, with his sweet, shy grin waving at them. Then, sometimes when they notice him he turns and becomes shy. He melts my heart, my sweet litle Major!! It's hard to tell just quite yet, what his personality will be like....as far as outgoing, shy etc. but one thing is for sure, he is ALL boy!!

Sweet Little Teacher Take 2!

After twirling, plieing, bending and tippy toeing for nearly an hour-Berkley's teacher came out and said that she kept them much longer, because "they are all brilliant! It's my favorite class of the entire week!" Wow, that made Berkley smile from ear to ear and my heart swell as well.

Driving home, we talked about what a GREAT job she did, listening, following directions etc. The minute we got home. She declared to her Daddy and I, "I am going to be a Ballerina Teacher!" She told me to "stand on my spot" and then began to instruct me in her new ballet movements. Mommy has recently been to a few ballet classes herself, but is not nearly as flexible as she was when she was three!

Soon, after ballet was "over," she became Mrs. Hullender-her Preschool teacher. She asked, "who wants to be my helper?" Then she said, "now today is treasure day, we don't want anyone to have to pull their sticks." Then, back to work we went. Daddy "helped" pass out the paint cups and she handed us each a brush, smock and "paper." She pretend to place paint on each of our hands, then she told us to hold our hands down on our paper. After painting time was over, she said, "now put those in your cubbies and it's playtime!!"

After playtime was over, we went to music class. "Let me hear your voices," she declared. We laughed out loud at this one, as we new that this phrase along with her other "teacher" phrases came straight from her music teacher's mouth!

Helicopter pilot? Airplane Pilot? Teacher? Doctor? Nurse? Whatever path God has planned for her, we just want to provide her with as many opportunities to find her gifts and pursue her dreams.

Flashing back, nearly 25 years and their was little Amy-decked out in my teacher attire, my three brothers all sitting quite patiently as I instructed them in math, handwriting, spelling!! Thinking back, what great listeners I had and now to see out own little sweet Berkley, listening and mimicking her teachers! Oh, what a JOY!!

Girly to the "T"

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_f52lflaO3tk/TGw3go7r3wI/AAAAAAAAC4w/IvWXdKzQLSs/s320/DSCF4021.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506837478250372866" />

Here is a sweet picture of our 3 year old Berkley!! ALL girl!! This is how she would prefer to dress everyday!! Pink from head to toe, complete with high heels and a Tiara. This picture was taken from her Princess Party. Our first official birthday party with her sweet little friends!! They had such a great time. The clubhouse was decorated in pink from head to toe, with some mint green thrown in there-we didn't want to scare her little boy friends away with all of the pink!!

She is very neat and organized, likes things in their place. Yesterday, I caught her sitting at her new little table. She had three babies. Each sitting on their own chair, and she had the "head" chair. She was saying, "now you need to listen to your parents....."

Yesterday she created her own wedding invitation, complete with sequin decor. In case you didn't already know, she has her wedding scheduled for June 19th of next year. Although when you ask her, she says she has to be 25 or 30 to get married, then she can have a baby. Apparently, her best friend Nathan has already proposed in Sunday School. He is such a sweet friend, but I told her not for another 30 years or so!! Plenty of time to plan AND save.

And by the way, she still is interested in being a pilot-a "helicopter" pilot. It will be excited to see what God has planned as she has many interested. She is very compassionate and likes doctoring us all up with her pink bandaids. Even Daddy has been known to wear pink bandaids every know and then!

New sweet sayings and doings by Major Maddox

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_f52lflaO3tk/TGw1HbIkuoI/AAAAAAAAC4o/GcQIIodCTME/s320/DSCF4039.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506834846026349186" />

Major Maddox will soon be 17 months this Friday the 20th of August!! WOW, that means next month he'll be 1 1/2. How time flies!! He is learning many new words and I wanted to post these as this blog is a type of diary. It is exciting to look back and see what they were doing and interested in at certain times of their sweet lives.

Besides saying, "Mama, Dadda, Babba, ba-bye, nigh, night," and a form of "Hydee"-our Golden Retriever he has now started adding other words to his vocabulary. He LOVES watching and listening to the music from Veggie Tales. Grandma recently bought him Bob the Tomato and Berkley, Larry the Cucumber. He can very clearly say, "Bob," his new little buddy. He is always working on saying "up" and "all done."

Some of his favorite "doings" are: being outside (he's prefer this 100% of the time), throwing any and all kinds of balls, chasing sister around the house, dancing around in circles, and giving kisses. He loves water both in the tub and swimming pool. In fact, when my two little ones wake up from their naps we just may need to take a trip to the pool!! He likes to jump in from the side, just like his sis and even puts his face in and blows bubbles. He's a bundle of energy! WHEW!

Sweet sayings from our sweet 3 year old-Berkley Ella!

Lately, Berkley has been saying the most creative, cutest little "ideas." Her latest thing is to say in her MOST, VERY expressive little voice (with her eyes as big as blueberries, " MOMMY, I KNOW!! I HAVE AN IDEA!!" And then I just wait with a smile in my face, in great anticipation of her "great idea." I must say for a little one that's just turned three she has a great, creative, little mind.

So, one of her latest ideas last week, when we had been having quite a bit of rain was, "Mommy, I know....we could fly in up in a BIG airplane and glue the clouds together and then it wouldn't rain anymore."

She's always been very observant, keenly aware of her surroundings. She's aware of people, their feelings, situations...just very intune and on top of what's going on. She reasons very well and likes to "understand" things.

A few days ago, I had put both Major and Berkley in their carseats, buckled myself up and then put the car in reverse when from the backseat I heard, "Mommy, I don't want this gum" anymore. Well, since we've gotten out new car, I've REALLY tried hard not to let any trash pile up. So, as I backed up the car I quietly rolled down the window and tossed her gum out, hoping she was distracted with something else. About one minute later as we were driving down the alley she asked, "So, Mommy did you throw the gum out the window so that the squirrels could eat it?" "Uhhh???? Yeah!," I quickly replied. It went against my teaching her not to liter (okay and not telling the truth), but for some reason I thought I'd sneak that one past her. But, she smiled as she thought about the squirrels being able to chew her bubble gum. "Maybe they will try to blow bubbles!!," she added "Maybe, they will Berkley," I said with a grin. We both drove down the road with a funny image of a brown squirrel, blowing a big, pink bubble with ABC bubblegum!

Never a dull moment!! Not with these two little sweet peas!

Sweet little Major Maddox

Major is now officially walking and nearly running everywhere. He is always wanting to stay caught up with his sister and do everything and anything that she is doing. That includes using the same toys and she is using.

Upon awaking, Major likes to play this hiding game in his bed. When I open the door, he slowly lifts his head and then giggles and hides down in his bumper. Then as I walk closer, and crawls in mock speed across the bed. Sometimes, he stands and runs across the beds, then falls down in a fit of laughter. It's funny!! He'd like to play that game for a long time and would probably stay in there as long as I'd stay and watch him.

He LOVES throwing anything......we try to stick with balls, but often other things get thrown too. He has become interested in books, and learning new words. He LOVE Elmo and watching him do the Hokey Pokey and has an Elmo book that makes sounds.

He LOVES splashing in the pool and much prefers to be held so that me can kick, splash and put his face in the water. He likes to blow bubbles and even tries this in the tub. Good thing we now have tile in our bathroom, as opposed to the carpet we used to have....much easier to clean up after having two kids in the tub.

He has this fake cry that is really kinda cute. He scrunches up his little nose and then squints his eye....one is more closed than the other. He just makes this little puffing sound and soon it can be turned into a giggle.

Berkley has great plans for him. She has already told him that she is going to drive him places when she is sixteen and then when HE is sixteen, then he can drive her around places.

I hope and pray that they will be wonderful friends who love and support each other. They do adore each other and have fun waking each other up. Sounds like it's that time...I hear little Major now....time for our little game of peek-a-boo!

Nearly three going on thirteen!

WOW!! So, our little Berkley will be turning three this Saturday-June 19th. For the past six months, when people have stopped us in the grocery store and ask her how old she is she has replied, "2 1/2." Then, when asked when her birthday is, she very matter a factly replies, "June 19th." So, here we come JUNE 19th!!

She is already showing more and more signs of indepdence, her opinions, feelings, and ideas. Most are fun and exciting, some are interesting and challenging.

Yesterday after, we took Daddy to pick up his truck, Berkley was commentating while we drove down the road. "It looks like it is going to rain again Mommy." And she was right, within minutes of pulling into the garage...the rain came. In torrents, as it often does in West Texas. Berkley looked at me and said, (again matter a factly-is that how all three year olds speak?) "Mommy, I think you need to call your Mom and ask her to borrow her umbrella so that rain won't get on my head." Okay, so she gets the whole-Grandma is MY mom.

(While I am trying to complete this post, she decided that she needed some more water-helped herself to my bottle of water sitting on the computer desk and is now explaining her step, by step process of how she emptied all of my water into her cup. "Watch this. I poured it all in there. Then, yours was all gone."

So, we are in the process of moving---which is one LONG story and another reason I haven't posted in SO long....Our things have been packed for two months now. When we can't find something, little Berkley concludes it must be "packed."

"I am missing my purse Mommy-oh yeah, it must be packed." One night when I was tucking her into bed, she decided that she wanted her little stuffed, black puppy (Pie-pie) to join her......Quickly, she concluded (before I had figured out what to reply or do) "He must be packed." "Yes, he must be," I replied. Whew!!

Okay, so this post isn't quite as I intended but that's what happens when our schedule gets off, and Berkley woke up, after one hour saying "I grew skin!" That's our sign......So, we are getting ready to enjoy the cooler weather and go Scooter riding.

Tonight is supposed to be a BIG night, as she is going to have her first swimming lesson. She is a BRAVE one in the water.....a little fishy. We'll save the water stories for another post. Better scoot!

Sweet thoughts of a BRIGHT pink future!

For the past five months, each time that I ask little Berkley what she wants to be when she grows up, she sweetly, positively, replies, "a pilot." "An airplane pilot?" I ask. "No, Mommy a helicopter pilot. A PINK helicopter." For months now, the answer remains the same. She has a fascination with helicopters, although we haven't read books about helicopters, watched them in movies or tv. She has only heard them flying overhead. We are traveling to Michigan this summer and she is insisting on getting their by helicopter......I've tried to explain that it would be kind of a long trip in a helicopter......but her request has remained the same.

A few days ago, while preparing to go on a walk I asked her to go into Major's room and get his blue and white stripped jacket with the orange airplane. "You mean the orange helicopter, Mommy?" "Uh,yeah." I replied, trying to think what was on the front of his cute little hooded sweatshirt. She brought it to me and sure enough, it was an orange helicopter.

Although she's only 2 1/2, Charlie and I have often talked about what we think she will be when she grows up. She is definitely VERY nurturing and empathetic. She pays VERY close attention to details and seems to know and understand the world around her in ways that many five years olds don't. When one of us is sick, she brings us one of her dolls...if Major is crying, she'll bring him a toy or get him his sippy cup. She's on the ball and acts quickly, sometimes before I've even thought it.

I know that she'll be a wonderful Mother, as she already seems to have a knack for mothering her little brother as well as taking care of her baby dolls. Currently, her PINK bunny rabbit is "sick" and has been covered up with a little PINK baby blanket in her little white baby doll cradle. She takes his temperate with a real thermometer, but after nearly a week...the report is: "she's feeling sick." So, a nurse maybe?

For now, it's fun to watch her develop grow. I want her to grow up knowing the skies the limit (oh, yikes....that could make the helicopter thing literal....:)) but allow her to dream big and use the talents that God has given in life.

Maybe she'll be a ballerina teacher wearing a pink leotard, a teacher using pink chalk, a nurse wearing a pink scrubs, or maybe a helicopter pilot with a pink helmet.

God knows her future. I do know that I am on the search for a PINK monkey backpack, with wheels for "preschool, Mommy after I turn three." Oh, along with the PINK lunch box. I have some time, but I may have to get creative....I'm not surprised about the PINK (at all), but I am about the monkey. I thought it would be a PINK helicopter.

Maybe she'll go down in the history books for the first girl to ever fly a pink helicopter. Watch out big white airplane, you may have a PINK helicopter in your future!!

Sweet little teacher Berkley Ella!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_f52lflaO3tk/S2ZV9Ttbg3I/AAAAAAAACOo/VwQIvv0o42Q/s320/DSCF3832.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5433124512220283762" />
This evening, while I was slicing up bread for dinner, I overheard Berkley in her most sweetest of sweet voices saying, "Hydee, sit! Hydee come here!!" Soon, her voice did get a little louder and before I knew it she was following Hydee around the house with her bag of sightwords in hand.

Yes, we have a few words that we are working on and at times, Berkley will pull them out on her own and surprise me by reading a word correctly on her own-without any help! Well, tonight I guess she decided to put on her very own teacher hat.

Soon, after parading around the house Hydee was corned laying on the kitchen floor. Berkley once again started in, with bag on words in hand. "Sit Hydee. Hydee look at this word. Do you see the picture Hydee? Look at the first letter?" YES, she REALLY said that. "Do you want a treat Hydee? It's the word sat Hydee."

I do promise that I've never used bribery in our learning process, but she was pulling it out of her own hat. Great out of the box thinking Berkley Ella!! So, while pretending to be "into" slicing the bread I couldn't help but be in awe of my little 2 and a half year old----interested enough in learning, wanting to teach another (okay, so just out dog) but, she just happened to be a student that was availabe with no choice!! How sweet it was!!

Hmm.....just like someone else I know......only thirty years ago......with teacher clothes on, pencil in hand teaching her little brothers. Major, watch out!! You'll be blessed to learn from you sister as she is not only your life long sister, friend, but will want to teach you many things as you will her.

Wait!!! I just remembered this afternoon, Berkley and Major were playing with their floor Alphabet mat.....and she was telling him, "this is a "M," M for Major!" Okay, let the teaching begin!!

Major Maddox's Top Ten at Ten Months!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_f52lflaO3tk/S2Tv7lXguKI/AAAAAAAACOg/Zs17XMPRAGM/s320/DSCF3093.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5432730857437706402" />
From the hours prior to his birth, everything about little Major Maddox has been calm and serene. (Well, almost everything.....I have a few vague memories around 8 weeks.) But those are long forgotten and overshadowed. He is such a sweet little bundle. His eyes light up a room. As happy that I am, to see him grow, change, develop-I am sad that he is seven weeks from turning ONE!! How can that be? We were just going to the hospital, three weeks early....with little Berkley-21 months at the time......

So, in random order I decided to compose Major's Top Ten:

10. Walking around the house holding your hand
9. Splashing and giggling in the tub with his big Sis
8. Crawling/scooting around on the floor, looking for anything to put in his mouth
7. Playing with sister's toys
6. Being pushed on a ride on toy
5. Being swayed to sleep
4. Pulling Hydee's tail
3. Chewing on books
2. Saying, Dada, Mama, and Baba
1. Clapping-it makes him smile from ear to ear

Now, in random order ten (of the many) things that I love about my sweet little Major

10. Cuddling with him in the morning
9. When his eyes light up when I walk in the room
8. His sweet little hands and beautiful blue eyes
7. Listening to him giggle and squeal with Berkley
6. Watching him throw-he's already got quite an arm!!
5. His sweet, laid back personality
4. His calmness
3. Watching him learn to do new things
2. Rocking him at night
1. Being his Mommy-how blessed I am!!

How many sweet pennies will this wedding cost us?

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 286px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_f52lflaO3tk/S1TMdk3Q0mI/AAAAAAAACKw/i2Qh9VqwoHQ/s320/DSCF3412-1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5428188259372028514" />
Well, it has been decided by you guessed it....Berkley-that her wedding is going to cost "twenty coins." Thanks to Grandma and Daddy Berkley has already filled up her small little pink piggy bank one time-and we've had to empty the contents into a "jar." So, maybe in thirty years we'll have twenty vats full of coins to pay for this wedding, complete with helicopter and all. Good thing, she doesn't know anything about those shows that show the most EXTRAVAGANT weddings...she may want to start watching!!! YIKES!! I think we're already heading in the direction.

In that case........ 1. We'd better keep filling up her little pink piggy bank
2. Start coordinating things this year.......

After making her own decisions on her method of transportation to her wedding, who was going to drive the helicopter (herself of course!), who the photographer would be ("ME!!") It was a great surprise to me, when I asked her, "so, are you basically going to be the boss?" "No, Mommy." So it sounds would like she would like to be in charge of a few details, (at least the ones that seem important to her as a two and a half year old) but for now, we'll leave the rest up to Mommy. Mommy would be perfectly happy with that as she once dreamed of being a wedding planner herself.

For now, it's fun to let her imagination run wild and hear her ideas.....but I don't even think that in twenty years from now, will I be ready for her to be getting married. Right now, I am enjoying her as a two year old-playing with dollies, wanting to put on fingernail polish with Mommy, needing to bring a purse on every outing, being SO sweet in her Sunday School class, and thinking/acting on ways she can take care of her little brother.

When we do visit the grocery store, and I get a few coins back....I tell her to put them in her pocket and before we know it....her little pink bank will be filled to the brim again. As I am overflowing for love for her, Major and my sweet husband and somedays wish that they would stay this young forever.

Just think how much weddings will cost in 20-20 years??...we only hope to be able to give her the best in life-not just monetarily-but more importantly unconditional love, a love for the Lord, for her family and others, while teaching her to do her best in all things. Those things you can never fill enough pink piggy banks with!

Pink Strawberry Wedding Cake

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_f52lflaO3tk/S1O3eRQygTI/AAAAAAAACKI/A-Op_pBqzMU/s320/DSCF3286.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5427883706569359666" />
Tonight while Major was taking a later than usual nap, we had a very interesting discussion about Berkley's future wedding. She already has it planned to the tee-hopefully, this won't take place for at least another thirty years or so, because we are going to need at least that much time to plan.

She plans to ride in a helicopter to the wedding. When we asked her who would be driving it, she said, "ME, and Daddy and Mommy will sit in the front by me and Major will sit in the back. "I will have my pink purse with four pieces of gum. Two for me-one pink and the other green, two for Daddy-one pink and the other black." (We often talked that you have to be MUCH older to be able to chew gum, so I guess logic tells her that when she's old enough to fly her plane to her own wedding....she can chew gum!)

She has decided that both her and Mommy will be wearing pink dresses (I'm sure to coordinate with our matching pink purses.) Of course she has already decided on "pink flowers with some green."

At the reception, she has planned a cake that matches the color of Daddy's shirt that he has on tonight-blue!! But, she wants the flavor to be strawberry!!When I asked her who would be taking the pictures at her wedding, she quickly, replied, "ME!!!"

Berkley is already excited about having a live band and wants to dance the night away. Of course she'll have to dance with Daddy and Mommy.

Oh, so who? Who does she want to marry? Everytime I ask her this question.....the answer has remained unchanged......"SUZ!" She has said that ever since going to Aaron and Susan's wedding this past summer in June. But, "Uncle Aaron can still come," she said with a sweet grin.

She's only two and a half and has such large dreams. It's going to have to be one VERY special young man to sweet our little Berkley off of her feet-in MANY years to come!!

My Two Sparkly Cupcakes-But No Sparkly Pink Tutu For Me

"Remember to pay attention, then ask for a sucker." Sweet words of advice given to me by my two and a half year old, Berkley Ella as I was swiftly heading out the door for my first adult ballet class.

As I was excitedly getting dressed for my first adult ballet class, Berkley asked, "you are going to the same place as me?" WOW!! Yes, your 32 year old Mommy has been counting down this day for many months....okay, years now. I've always wanted to take ballet and I decided: 1. There no time like the present.
2. I am not getting any younger!! So, go for it!!

Grandma, Gramdpa and Adrian sweetly braved the cold, came over and watched Berkley and Major while I ventured off to my new favorite activity. After giving bye-bye hugs and kisses, I dashed off to the car, quickly starting it-not even giving it time to warm up on this fridged Thursday night. I zoomed off into the black night, not wanting to be late to their very first class.

I loved every moment of my ballet class. Putting on the pink fitted shoes, learning the five positions (and having my two months of classes in eighth grade come back to me), the plies, the classical music in the background, the grace, long movements and just being able to feel feminine-all wrapped up in one package.

To our surprise, I was the only student that was at the class this evening, so I was blessed with my very own private lesson. Estie, my new ballet teacher really complimented me---saying that I was natural and you could tell that I had taken lessons before. I left feeling uplifted, girly, and already excited about our next class. I must admit that I didn't wear pink-nor did I borrow any of Berkley's little Tutu's....but I am thinking that I will probably go out and buy a little wrap around skirt for my next lesson.

Feeling so blessed for the opportunity to pursue one of my lifelong dreams, I was doubley blessed as I walked into the door to "Mommy!! You're home!!" And sweet little Major wanting to wrap up in Mommy's arms right upon my arrival.

We thanked Grandma, Grandpa and Adrian for coming and playing-gave hugs and kisses to go around and then went to out little window to watch them walk to their car. "Bye-bye Grandma. Bye-bye-Grandpa," said little Berkley. "Bah-bye".....said little Major!!

Yes, he's beginning to talk!! Having a sweet sister to giggle with, play with, laugh with, and talk with is such a blessing to all of us-Berkley, Major, Mommy and Daddy. Dada, bye-bye, Mama, pee,pee and bah (for ball) have all made it on his list. And just as his Mommy enjoyed every movement in her ballet class-Major too is wanting to move!! Move, by cruising, "crawling, "swaying" to music. Looks like we have a mover and a shaker!!

Even at the end of the day, they are my two sweet cupcakes with sprinkles on top!! Sprarkley sprinkles, that come in many bright colors!!!

Sweet Beginnings!! Can you believe it's another new DECADE? I mean, it just seems that Y2K was just around the last corner. Happy Sweet Beginnings!!

Spending time with family and friends through the Thanksgiving and Christmas season is something that I look forward to each and every year. Thanksgiving helps me to stop and again remember all of the many blessings that my family has been blessed with throughout this year and in years past.

Christmas-a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus and well, when you have little ones the gift giving is a million times more exciting. Berkley said that she heard Santa on the roof this year, bring her top requested "Pink Scooter and Pink Helmet" although she is confused that he about the fact that he such a big belly and he fit through the chimney!! Major was giggling with delight as he loved unwrapping his gifts and anyone's gifts that he could get his little nine month old hands on.

Now, on to a New Year!! A year filled with many blessings and many firsts!! Major will have his first birthday!! Wow, my wheels are already turning....should we have a monkey party or a puppy dog party? But, then again I have three more months to ponder that..... Soon, he'll be talking and even eating Daddy's favorite-pizza!!

The first week of May, Berkley and the "Tiny Tutu's" will have her first ballet recital!! I am already looking forward to seeing two and three year olds perform in their first recital. I'm sure we'll have to get a special new outfit-if not, some new hair bows for the special occassion.

Our family is looking forward to venturing to Sea World for the first time later this spring. While getting out of the bathtub, Berkley was talking about wanting to feed the Dolphins and then she declared, "I want to ride one too Mommy!" We'll see if that makes it into our book of firsts!! I love the innnocence of children-at such a young age-they don't have many fears and she seems willing to try many new things, explore and learn.

As I've written in a prior post, one of Berkley's currenty ambitions is to become a pilot, now along with an Optometrist. She has flown to Michigan a month after she turned one, so she doesn't remember the experience and is already very excited about going on a "BIG plane" as we will be traveling to Michigan later this summer to spend a week, on Lake Leelanau. Excitingly, we will be renting the same yellow cottage (now painted grey) that my Grandparents rented for a month each summer while we were growing up. It will be a first for Berkley to remember being on an airplane, the first time for Major to fly, the first time for our family of four to all fly together and just relax at the beach. Being at the lake for a week, will be a first for Charlie and although I've experience it many times-I have such great excitment for him because he is going to LOVE every minute of being on the serene, beautiful lake and enjoying God's creation.

So, with our year of firsts I'll end this post with a first from sweet little Berkley. Prior to getting into the tub, she wanted to pour some bubbles. What girl doesn't LOVE bubbles in their bubble bath? The more the better!! So, after pouring the "mom suggested" amount, she said......"Mom, I think that the bath tub is thirsty!!" Ha,ha!! Okay, so I know that "right disciplinary" response would be- "no I told you that was all." But, when she comes up with something so innocent and CREATIVE......I had to give in. What a sweet beginning with SO MANY more to follow!

May your New Year be filled with sweetness as ours is each and everyday-some small and some big. Just don't forget to stop and be thankful for the sweet things in life that bring us so much joy! Off to a bath filled with bubbles!!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://2littlesweetpeas.blogspot.com/2010/01/sweet-beginnings-welcome-2010.html' title='Sweet Beginnings!! He is just a bundle of sweetness. He turned nine months today and I can't believe how time how flown. Major's latest thing is to scrunch up his nose and make the cutest little noise. It's one of those things, that I wish would last forever. I know that it will in my memory and Berkley and I will remind him of his cute little habit when he's older.

Crawling? Hmmm....It doesn't seem that either Berkley or Major are too much into it. However, Major has made a few minor attempts-such a twirling around on his tummy to reach a toy. Both he and Berkley don't seem to prefer looking down at the world. They look up! I see this in their personalities too!

One of his new favorites is to stand, have Mommy hold his hands and walk around the house. He'd walk for a block if we tried. So, crawling he may.....but I won't be surprised if the crawling and walking occur at the same time. It does make life easier when having two little ones, that I can sit him in one place and know that I can count on him to be there when I leave the room for a minute. It's when they start walking, running, skipping, hopping, riding their bike around the house....you never know where they could be.

He's still small in stature, but big in heart. He seems to LOVE people and enjoys watching faces and expressions. I have no doubt that with that he'll be a tall boy someday, but we are in no rush. Although, I look forward to seeing him grow and develop, I'd keep him as a baby if I could (and even secretly have whispered, I'd take him as a twin). He's my bundle of sweetness. And having two that are sweet? Along having a sweet, sweet husband-now, that's LIVING THE SWEET LIFE with THREE cherries on top!

Have you ever seen a two year old with braces?

While quietly eating lunch the other day, Berkley said "Mommy I think I have something stuck in my braces!" She often asks me to open my mouth "like a Hippo-Mommy" and take a look at my braces. We talk about how much longer I will have them on (one more year, for a total of THREE years!) and how they are making my teeth nice and straight.

Today, we flossed for the first time. I realized it was something that I hadn't done. So we pretended like I was the dentist and she lay down on the floor and did great!! She let me gently floss between her little teeth. She even giggled a few times, because it tickled-making the first experience a good one. Her Daddy is a very good and consisitent flosser, unlike her Mommy. So, Daddy will be happy to know that Berkley's seems to have taken to flossing like a duck to water.

After her nap this afternoon, I found her in the bathroom with about 3 yards of floss. "I have something stuck in my braces, Mommy!"

Toddlers- they say the FUNNIESTS things

Well, having two little ones keeps me hopping each and every minute of the day....but little Berkley Ella is turning out to be quite the little creative conversationalists. I haven't spent as much time blogging our fun moments-just enjoying them and then scratching them down occassionally on a piece of notebook paper.

I thought I'd catch you up and give you a little glimps into our daily lives

9-18-09
After coming in from the car, with a ball in hand Berkley went straight inside through the kitchen to the doggie door, lifted it up and yelled, "Hydee Ella Scott?!!" She had happily found Hydee a tennis ball to play with and was anxious for her to come in and play.....quickly the flap came flying open, Hydee bounded through the kitchen chasing her prized tennis ball all over the house.

9-23-09
"Mommy, Hydee needs to go potty?" "How do you know, " I asked. " Did she tell you?" "No, Mommy doggies don't talk!" (duh?!)

9-29-09
One evening while in the tub, Berkley decided that we should have a tea party. No, I wasn't in the tub too-just Berkley and Major.....she concluded that Major was just to have a "little bit because he is a baby." So, she just poured a small teaspoon and let him have his own "tea cup."

While getting out of the tub we were singing the ABC's in a low voice, Berkley said, "it sounds like thunder Mama!" Soon, she decided to open and close my mouth slowly. "You look like a hippo Mama!" Thankfully, I am pretty sure she was just referring to the opening and closing of my mouth!

10-01-09
While eating her waffles, "this looks like a mermaid."

The same day Major was wearing a navy shirt with a small red firetruck on the front. "It is night time on Major's shirt Mama."

10-05-09
While I was feeding Major his bottle, I covered him up with his little blanket while we were rocking in the chair. My little helper Berkley came over and decided that "Major wants the blanket on the right side." Referring to fluffy side up!!

10-14-09
One day at lunch, we were quietly eating, both deep in thought. "Jesus loves me.....and he likes rocks too."

10-17-09
Then there are the questions......."Mama, does the moon like vitamins?"

11-09-09
After being tucked into bed, music, on, lights off. I quietly closed the door and I hear, "Mommy, it's messy." What could possibly be messy? Hmmm..I open the door, gaze around the room-everything appeared perfectly in place. "Mommy, those books, their messy." They there were two tiny little books laying half way on the bookshelf and half way on the floor.....AHH!! I put them "back in their place" A perfectly neat room. Now we can all sleep peacefully!!

11-11-09
After going through our nightly routine-read one book together on her pink bean bag chair, sing two songs, pray and then tuck in to bed (that of course has it's order too:) I was just about to do the final step-press PLAY on the CD player before slipping out of the room and enjoying some quiet. Less than five seconds after I was rounding the corner down the hall I hear, "Mommy I have to go poppy?" "WHAT!!" I was SOOO tired and just wanted a little breather!! So, I tell myself to have a good attitude, ask her if she is absolutely sure-with a HUGE nod she declared, "YES!" So, off we went across the hall to her bathroom. After leaving the room for again less than five seconds she calls me back in there, "My poppy is sleeping in my tummy Mommy. It doesn't want to come out!!" How hard was it not to smile on the outside. VERY CREATIVE I thought....next time I'll make sure and ask if she is SURE that her poppy isn't already asleep like she should have been!

11-12-09
Before lunch today when decided to take advantage of the nice fall weather and take a stroll around the block. Berkley wanted to take her "HEB" basket along with her baby Abby in the front seat. After a few minutes of walking she asked, "Please stop Mommy. I need to ask you something. Can I have a boat someday? I'll drive and you can sit in the back and wear your seatbelt. We'll go REAL fast."

After finishing our boat discussion, we rounded the corner and she began to notice little ants in their homes on the sidewalk. I asked her what she thought they were doing-"eating lunch," she replied. "What do you think they are eating," I asked. No answer. "Grass?" "No." "Leaves?" "No." "Rocks?" "No, Mama AVOCADOS!!

The Teachable 2s on 2s DAY

"It's 2s DAY!" exclaimed little Berkley Ella while on the phone to Grandma. Yeah, I thought to myself she is beginning to read. My mother/teacher experiment is catching on! Just a little combination of symbols, phonetic spelling and connecting to real life experiences that happen on particular days! Ok, so I can't say that I am the creator of this "inventive" spelling, but it does seem to be working for my SWEET 2 year old.

Two's, two's.....the "teachable two's," as her Sunday School teacher likes to call this age. Catchy, I thought when first hearing her positive approach to the usual negative "terrible two's." It's true....never underestimate the sponge-like mind of a two year old. They are capable of SO much and WANT 2 learn 2. We are seizing this opportunity and have been learning the days of the week.

Being a logical thinker, Berkley quickly picked up "shapes" on her own around 1 and a half. We then started finding colors in the world around us and this morning she explained to me that there was an airplane flying up in the blue sky.

The teacher in me has many ideas...but I am letting her guide her own learning. ABC's are coming along, as I hear her own version of the little song improving with each passing day. But, for this little learner the days of the week are more her slice of pie (for now at least). So, each night before bed we review the present day, talk about the next, and write the next day down in our own 2 year old way.

Since turning two I have been pondering some adjectives to describe my SWEET little Berkley and here they are in random order:

Observant
Compassionate
Organized
Friendly
Girly
Active
Determined
Attentive (to details)
Categorizes/Classifies
Thinker

I haven't "retired" from my job as a teacher, I just have my own students now living under our own roof. What a blessing 2 spend each moment of each day enjoying life and learning together! We can create our own curriculm, take our own field trips, learn on our own time schedule, and let my 2 SWEET students guide their own learning.

As for today, it's 2s DAY and we've counted Protein Bars in the grocery basket, been to the library to return and borrowed books, touched a "real" firetruck.....so many opportunities for my 2 SWEETS, especially my little SWEET born on 2sDAY, June 19th 2007-Berkley Ella who recently turned 2 and would be happy to tell you that today is "2s DAY!"

Cherries on Top of my Sunday

Ok, so I really don't like those "fake," red, rubby cherries Texans "claim" as Cherries....but, it sounded like a catchy little title-so here is a short list of my cherries on top:

Berkley asking her teacher if she could go potty (twice)at Sunday School this morning-her first day in Sunday School not wearing diapers! Charlie, Berkley and I all went in on March 19th for my 11am, 37 weeks OB visit. To our great surprise, I was dialated nearly 5cm and about 80% efaced-in laymans terms-many people would have already been admitted into the hospital waiting to give birth. But oh no-not me! I had not had any symptoms. Due to our "great surprise" with little Berkley Ella, our Doctor advised us to go in if I had contractions five minutes apart for an hour straight. No need to start to keeping track now, I thought. I could still have three weeks to go. I decided to not try and think about the fact that many people were suggesting that I could be driving to the hospital at any time. Later that afternoon, painless contractions started in-much like our experience nearly 21 months ago with little Berkley Ella. No need to rush to the hospital and lay there any longer than necessary. So, we decided to go for a walk around the neighborhood. Walking increased the frequency of the contractions-which is common whether you are in "true labor" or not. So, I did as the Dr. ordered-drank plenty of water, laid down for 45 minutes and then decided that this could be it.

Finding my pre-packed suitcase in the bottom of our closet, I added some last minute items and I told Charlie that we weren't callling anyone-for fear of this not being "the real thing." This time we did decide to take around suitcase with us-"but we are going to leave it in the car," I insisted. By the time we were loading up the car, I was pretty sure that this was the real thing. Yet, no pain! Thank goodness. Upon arriving at Labor and Delivery, the nurses didn't seem to believe that I was in labor. We waited for an open room and within 15 minutes discovered that I was definately in labor. Getting out the cell phone, we quickly called my mom and Mike and within 10 minutes they happily greeted us in our birth room.

Sweet Major Maddox quietly entered the world on Friday, March 20th at 1:20am. All was peaceful and surreal. He was such a tiny bundle at 5lbs and 14 oz and 18 inches long. We cuddled and held him until he was taken to the nursery. I didn't sleep a wink, longing to hold my sweet little one again.

He is a dream baby. A perfect baby. Sweet. Calm. Quiet. Undemanding. Enjoys talking and cooing-sometimes more than eating. Berkley loves little Major and is quite the "mother" to him. Retrieving his pacifier and once even some tylenol because she decided his "tummy hurt."

I enjoy every moment with my little baby boy. The second time around I know that they do grow so quickly and I want to cherish each moment with my little precious Sweet Pea.

Contractions?! HUH?!

One year and 364 days ago, unbeknownest to myself I was in labor with our first little sweet pea. I must admit that prior to motherhood I was a "by-the book" type of girl. The "book" had an extensive list helping one to know when to rush to the hospital. No, my water hadn't broken....no, I wasn't having pain....hmm...what was going on I thought. Deciding to call the hospital late that Monday evening was when things started to zoom into perpetual motion. "Dehydration" was the likely cause according to the Labor and Delivery nurse on the other line. After drinking "plenty" of water, resting on my side for over an hour-my stomach was still tightening for and loosening. "Weird," I thought as Charlie and I sat up in bed. He was determined that things were fine-but how could I just fall asleep? After another twenty minute debate on what to do....we zoomed off around 11 :30pm. Besides wondering why Charlie was driving so wrecklessly at this hour, I thought that we definately should have left earlier because now we probably wouldn't be home until 1am.

After arriving at the Birthplace, we were greeted by the friendly voice on the other line-Sherry. After a few little tests, she announced, "girl, you are in labor! We have one room left!" Good thing I was laying down, I seriously felt a rush of adrenaline flowing from head to toe. What?!! I still have 16 days to go! I didn't even bring my purse! The prepacked suitcase was lying untouched in our master closet! Our first little sweet pea-Berkley Ella Scott made her grand entrance into the world on June 19th, 2007-a moment I will NEVER forget. She has filled our house with laughter and our hearts with joy! Tomorrow we will celebrate the day of her birth-two short years ago! I can't wait to share more about our sweet experiences with our first little sweet pea. Everyday I could write a novel about our little one! Happy Birthday Eve sweet Berkley Ella!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://2littlesweetpeas.blogspot.com/2009/06/some-of-her-favorite-things.html' title='Contractions?!
